About Me: Rocco is a very loving dog and just needs a chance. Unfortunately he arrived at the shelter heartworm positive and is in desperate need of a sponsor. Please take the time to stop by the shelter and meet Rocco. Without heartworm treatment he will die, this is the result of the last owners of this dog, did not have him on heartworm prevenative, and all it takes is one infected mosquito that can inject it's positive blood into the dog or cat, and then they will grow in the heart of the dog or cat, until it dies..... PLEASE take your dog to the vets and have them check it for heartworms, and pray to god it's negative, because then you can start protecting it, now! Heartworm's can be treated, but it is painful, and a long process, but the dog can have a full life without heartworms. If you have questions on the heartworm life cycle, ask your vet or call us at the shelter, we will gladly talk with you about it, and meet a wonderful dog at the same time. This was not Rocco's fault, if you can see it in your heart to help pay for his treatment, so he can have a fun life, playing and having a faimly to call his own, please call us, help save his life, he's simply a very loving dog!
